CMRPD Mission
The Clinical Monitoring Research Program Directorate (CMRPD) mission is to provide efficient and strategic support to federally-funded domestic and international clinical research programs investigating the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer, infectious diseases, and associated public health concerns. CMRPD uses a comprehensive approach to efficiently support the research missions of the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), several other institutes within the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the NIH Clinical Center.

NIAID conducts and supports basic and applied research to better understand, treat, and ultimately prevent infectious, immunologic, and allergic diseases.

CMRPD's primary mission is to provide comprehensive, dedicated clinical research support to major programs within NIAID. CMRPD staff provides high-quality programmatic, clinical trials management support and regulatory support to an extensive variety of high-profile NIAID initiatives.

CMRPD’s capabilities to offer a wide range of services in support of clinical research allow the program to assist many NIH institutes and agencies with accomplishing their research objectives. For example, CMRPD is involved with direct patient care activities at the NIH Clinical Center, provides regulatory compliance and protocol navigation services to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), and supports clinical research operations and clinical trials management for the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS).
